About the Instagram Photo Downloader

A screenshot of an Instagram photo gives you your screen's resolution, not the picture's. This tool pulls the original JPG that Instagram stored when the photo was uploaded, so you keep every pixel the photographer actually posted.

Single photos and carousel posts both work — for a carousel the result card lists each image separately so you can save the ones you want.

How to use it

  1. Copy the link to the Instagram post.
  2. Paste it above and press Download Media.
  3. Save each image you want from the result card.

Questions

What resolution do I get?
The full-size JPG Instagram serves, typically 1080px on the long edge. Instagram compresses on upload, so that is the maximum any tool can return.
Can I download every photo in a carousel?
Yes. Each item in the post appears as its own download in the result card.
Can I use the photos however I want?
No — the photographer still owns them. Downloading for personal or offline use is one thing; republishing someone else's work needs their permission.
